Priscila Neri
Program Manager
Priscila Néri, is a Brazilian journalist, activist, and documentary filmmaker who joined WITNESS in 2008 to help run the Hub and support WITNESS' campaigns online. She is currently working on our campaign on Forced Evictions in the Name of Development. Prior to WITNESS, Priscila ran the New York office of CDI, a network of "Technology & Civic Engagement Schools" in Latin America. Priscila also previously worked as a reporter for Brazilian newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo and freelance journalist for media outlets including Reuters and Carta Capital. In 2005, Priscila traveled to the Sertão Nordestino, the poorest region in Brazil, to collaborate with local NGOs and shoot a documentary about seven women (now in post-production). Priscila is an MFA candidate at the Integrated Media Arts Program at Hunter College.

As many as 170,000 Brazilians are at risk of losing – or have already lost – their homes to make room for the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics and the 2014 FIFA World Cup. These forced evictions disregard human rights, leaving homes destroyed and lives disrupted.
