BIOS: Cai Guo-Qiang was born in China. His practice draws on a wide variety of symbols, narratives, traditions and materials. Through the years, Cai has formulated collaborative relationships with experts from various disciplines, including scientists, doctors, feng shui masters, designers, architects, choreographers and composers such as Issey Miyake, Raphael Vionly, Zaha Hadid, and Tan Dun. Cai Guo-Qiang on the Roof: Transparent Monument was featured at The Metropolitan Museum, New York in 2006. He lives in New York.

Kiki Smith was born in Germany. Considered one of the most significant artists of her generation, Smith is a sculptor and printmaker known for her provocative depictions of the female body. Her work is in prominent collections worldwide, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. In 2004 a major retrospective of her work was shown at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Time Magazine included Kiki Smith in the list of the 100 Most Influential People for 2006. She lives in New York.
