Internships

Internships at WITNESS offer a unique, hands-on opportunity to gain experience in the areas of human rights, video advocacy, communications, media operations, fundraising, IT, human resources, and nonprofit administration. Interns participate in an array of activities depending on the department and projects, which may include logging footage, translation, research, event planning, online outreach, and organizational support. All internships are unpaid and are located in our Brooklyn, New York offices.

University Credit and Interns from Abroad

We are happy to assist candidates with applications for outside scholarships and arrange for academic credit. We welcome interns from abroad, however at this time WITNESS does not facilitate visa applications for internships.

Volunteer

We accept Volunteers at all levels of involvement that are interested in giving their time, talent, and skills in support of WITNESS’ work and mission. Volunteers do not receive compensation. You can volunteer to raise awareness about WITNESS in your local area, or lend your support in our Brooklyn office in New York City. From time-to-time we will announce specific Volunteer opportunities for WITNESS projects (see below):
