We're thrilled to announce that this week the Board of Directors of WITNESS appointed Yvette J. Alberdingk Thijm as its new Executive Director.

Video Advocacy Institute (VAI)
The first of its kind, this innovative program trains human rights defenders to successfully integrate video advocacy into their social change campaigns. In July 2008, WITNESS will host VAI 2008 in Montreal, Canada, in association with Concordia University's Communication Studies Program and Documentary Centre.
