Human Rights Video Hub Pilot Launched

Last Thursday, our Human Rights Video Hub pilot project with Global Voices Online launched. Sameer Padania, our Video Hub Editor has kicked it off with a post detailing how video cell phones and distributed networks are helping put an end to police and prison brutality in Malaysia.

We will be keeping a close eye on how this develops and whether or not we can engage the community to discuss and submit HR footage and story leads. So far after 3 days it seems we have gotten two compliments and one spam.

Nice idea to keep a blog, very eager to see the video hub become a reality. Wondering why the pilot is released in such unfinished beta--using a tech-company like Brightcove would allow to create a very user-friendly broadband player that's also free for the time being.

Congrats on this ambitious and needed effort. It could not be more timely or necessary.
