Elinor Tappé is a business leader with 25 years of experience in both corporate and nonprofit sectors. In her current role as Chief Development Officer at Urban Teachers, Elinor is a critical member of the executive team, helping to achieve strategic org-wide goals during the next period of growth.
By leveraging her unique background, Elinor incorporates entrepreneurial, market-disruptive solutions with metrics-driven decision making to deepen and diversify philanthropic audiences. Her expertise ranges from drafting strategic development and marketing plans, recruiting and mentoring teams, to professionalizing development operations in order to facilitate long-term goals. Those goals are typically tied to long-term financial sustainability for the organizations she serves.
Prior to Urban Teachers, Elinor was the CDO at Larkin Street Youth Services, a nonprofit that assists young people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco. She was previously the Senior Director of Development and Director of The Berkeley Network for University of California, Berkeley. In the corporate sector, Elinor worked in NYC for nearly two decades in senior leadership roles in the advertising sector, specifically throughout the supply chain in both paper and print.
Elinor is a mother of two grown children and lives in Philadelphia with her partner.
