Mika El-Baz is the EVP, West Coast / EVP, Publicity for RCA Records. A leading executive in the music industry and twice a Billboard Women in Music honoree, El-Baz is the top female executive at RCA Records. In addition to heading RCA’s west coast office, Mika oversees arguably the strongest publicity team in the industry and manages the label’s corporate communications while identifying new strategic opportunities for RCA’s formidable artist roster.
El-Baz is, and has been responsible for, managing and overseeing national media campaigns for some of the globe’s biggest superstars and important emerging artists. Mika began her career in London in fashion and music management before segueing to leadership roles at independent PR & marketing firms and music labels, including Island Records and Interscope Geffen A&M. She then joined RCA Records (formerly J Records) in 2004 and rose to EVP, Publicity for the label. Mika has a proven track record of mentoring not only her staff, but others within the junior executive ranks. A firm believer in promoting from within, she regularly explores the structure of her department to both reward and challenge young staffers to grow into more senior positions.
El-Baz is an alumna of Smith College and University College, London. She has served on committees for UJA Federation, held a seat on the Leadership Council for the Young Women’s Leadership Network and continues to mentor women throughout the entertainment industry. Having previously lived in New York City and London, Mika currently resides in Los Angeles with her family.
