Miyoko Brunner, External Relations Manager

Miyoko manages WITNESS’ External Relations department, which includes all aspects of individual and corporate philanthropy, communications and events – such as the Focus for Change Benefit.

Prior to WITNESS, Miyoko has worked on fundraising and development projects with the Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation (WHEDCo) in the Bronx and the Hough Foundation in Washington State, a not-for-profit inner city community service organization. Her interest in women’s issues also led to her involvement with the Campus Advocates Against Sexual Harassment and Assault. Throughout the year, Miyoko volunteers for the ELM Project whose mission is to enhance the lives of youth living with the challenges of HIV/AIDS and sickle cell disease by providing an enriching summer camp experience, year-round skill building and a supported transition to adulthood. She received a BA in Economics from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. She speaks English and proficient French.
