Maxwell Agbavitor, Finance Coordinator
Maxwell Agbavitor is a dedicated financial professional committed to supporting the mission and operational sustainability of WITNESS. As a Financial Coordinator, he plays a vital role in ensuring accurate financial documentation, maintaining audit-ready records, booking revenue and grant entries, and managing bank reconciliations. His work strengthens the organization’s fiscal accountability and transparency—core elements in empowering human rights advocates with the tools they need to create change.
Before joining WITNESS, Maxwell built a strong background in accounting and financial operations across multiple sectors and platforms. At Deel, he managed global expense reimbursements and vendor payments, spearheaded monthly reconciliations, and collaborated with product teams to ensure financial compliance. At Creion Limited, a SaaS startup, he led end-to-end revenue operations, streamlined reconciliation processes through automation, and oversaw month-end close procedures under US GAAP. Maxwell also held positions at IKERN & Associates and Mazars, where he gained deep experience in inventory accounting, IFRS and GAAP reporting, audit preparation, and system implementation.
Maxwell holds a BSc in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from the University of Ghana, where he was recognized as the Best Graduating Student in Audit and Assurance. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds several certifications, including Intuit Bookkeeping, QuickBooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor, and Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (CFI). He also completed the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate through Coursera. Maxwell is fluent in English and conversational in French. He is passionate about data-driven financial systems and frequently builds tools to improve process efficiency.
