Natalie Hornos, Program Manager, Brazil 

Natalie Lima Hornos is the Program Manager at WITNESS Brazil since 2024, where she leads programmatic fieldwork, including training programs for traditional and indigenous communities, and police violence topics. 

Her performance of more than 15 years connects the intersection of community communication, human rights, and popular education. She brings extensive experience coordinating socio-educational projects, educommunication, and community-based media. Her practice merges programmatic management, educational planning, training in territory and land defense, and audiovisual production to advance social transformation.

Before joining WITNESS, Natalie led different programs and projects for various third-sector organizations in Brazil, designing education in communication programs and audiovisual sovereignty projects for rural and urban communities. Her work spans youth training in rural Brazil and across Latin America, including her coordination of UNICEF’s Call to Solution (2022), an internationally award-winning climate justice initiative.

It also has broad experience in audiovisual and editorial production. In De Olho nos Ruralistas – Agrobusiness Watch in Brazil, she directed documentaries exposing agrarian conflicts, forged social movement partnerships, and produced audiovisual and social media contents that amplified grassroots resistance. Now an activist with Brazil’s Small Farmers’ Movement (MPA). 

She holds a master’s degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and is currently completing a second master’s in Latin American Studies at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (Ecuador). She is based in Bahia – Brasil.
