Bárbara González Segovia, People Relations Coordinator
As part of her role as People Relations Coordinator, Bárbara (she/they/ella/ela) supports WITNESS in strengthening our organizational culture, making sure our work aligns with our values, advancing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice within our internal practices, as well as adding fun elements to our team dynamics to help us connect with each other. She also supports team experiences throughout recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, and addressing conflict transformation.
Bárbara has more than 10 years of experience working in the nonprofit and human rights sectors. Her work has always been divided between her two professional passions: empowering people and teams to build shared missions and practices, and running programs and projects focused on environmental protection, Indigenous rights, and women’s empowerment. Cool fact: she lived and worked in the Amazon Rainforest for around five years, where she still has many ties and relationships with grassroots communities in Ecuador, Colombia, and Brazil. She has also worked with Indigenous territories from other parts of the world.
Bárbara is a joyful and caring soul who values people and communities. She deeply loves forests, all rivers, and rainstorms, and enjoys spending chill weekends crafting and hugging her chubby cat.
